Last Friday, I was in freezing Beijing. I travelled just over 2000 kilometres to see a band..and a friend. Hey, it was the “end of the world”, so why not?
It was a fantastic night at YugongYishan and I finally got to dance and stomp my feet to Hanggai, a Beijing based band that blends together more modern punk-rock sounds and traditional Mongolian folk music.
There were some other great bands playing too that night, which I got the chance to hear for the first time. Anyway, here’s a little collection of photos and links to their music. So grab a beer, turn up the volume and get lost in the sounds of Beijing…
