Lincolnshire: The Forgotten County?

Gibraltar Point National Nature Reserve

It’s been almost 5 months that I’ve been back in the UK. Apart from a trip to Paris and a couple of visits to London, I’ve mostly been enjoying being at my family home and exploring the villages and countryside of Lincolnshire.           Lincolnshire, you say.. It’s flat there isn’t it?

Yes, it’s flat. And yes, most people don’t seem to know exactly where it is. And, it’s such a shame.

Maybe you’ve been to Lincoln to visit the cathedral or made it as far as Skegness (ok, so it’s not the best beach in England) but what about the beautiful town of Stamford? No? The stunning National Trust property Belton House? OK… you must have heard about Gibraltar Point National Nature Reserve? How about the World Egg Throwing Championships near the village of Swaton?? No!?!

It’s the summer holidays, you’ve got a week or two to spare, the sun is out, the budget’s low, so come on over to Lincolnshire.
